HPE Synergy Fabrics best practices

Install Ethernet/Converged fabric in Fabric 3 (ICM bays 3 and 6).

Install SAS storage fabric in Fabric 1 (ICM bays 1 and 4).

To use Fabric 2 (ICM bays 2 and 5) as a second Ethernet fabric or FC/SAS storage fabric, install two of either Ethernet or FC/SAS storage fabrics.

For Fabric 1, SAS storage ICMs take precedence over FC storage interconnect modules.

Populate both respective ICM bays for each fabric in support of module redundancy.

Both ICM bays within a fabric must contain the same interconnect modules unless the fabric is an HPE Synergy Composable Fabric.

For HPE Synergy Composable Fabrics, the frame can be populated with combinations of master and satellite modules, depending on the intended multiframe configuration.
