System recovery of HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage using an image from the HPE Support center
Prerequisites
A blank 8 GB or larger USB drive.
Procedure
- Insert the USB drive into your workstation or laptop.
- Open an elevated command prompt with Administrator privileges.

Enter
diskpart.
- To determine the USB drive number or drive letter, enter
list disk at the
diskpart
prompt. Note the drive number or drive letter (typically the last drive listed). - To select the drive, enter
sel disk <USB drive number>.
For example, sel disk 4.

list disk at the

To delete the data from the USB drive, enter
clean .
CAUTION:
The
clean
command deletes everything from the USB drive. -
To create a new primary partition in the USB drive, enter
create par pri .
- To select the partition you created, enter sel par 1.
- To format the partition, enter format fs=fat32 quick.
- To mark the partition active, enter active.
- To assign a drive letter to the USB drive, enter
assign letter=<drive letter>.
For example, assign letter=U.
- Enter exit.
- Insert the System Recovery DVD into the workstation or laptop where the USB drive is located.
- Using Windows Explorer or a comparable utility, open the DVD to view all contents, including hidden files and system files.

Select all files (including
bootmgr
) on the DVD and copy them to the root of the USB drive.
