Example: Configuring a short static ARP entry

Network configuration

As shown in Figure 4, hosts are connected to Device B. Device B is connected to Device A through interface Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/2.

To ensure secure communications between Device A and Device B, configure a short static ARP entry for Device A on Device B.

IMPORTANT:

By default, interfaces on the device are disabled (in ADM or Administratively Down state). To have an interface operate, you must use the undo shutdown command to enable that interface.


# Configure an IP address for Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/2.
