Default user admin

A factory-default switch comes with a single user named admin.

The admin user:

  • Has an empty password. Press Enter in response to the admin password prompt. Define a nonblank admin password before using any of these connection types: REST, SNMP, web UI.

  • Is a member of the administrators group.

  • Cannot be removed from the switch.

NOTE:

The switch admin user is distinct from the Service OS admin user. The Service OS acts as the bootloader and recovery operating system. The Service OS has its own CLI.
