Syntax
copy running-config {startup-config | checkpoint <CHECKPOINT-NAME>}Description
Copies the running configuration into the startup configuration or to a specified checkpoint that does not exist yet. If the startup configuration is already present, the command overwrites the pre-existing startup configuration.

{startup-config | checkpoint <CHECKPOINT-NAME>Selects whether the startup configuration or a checkpoint receives a copy of the running configuration.
startup-configSpecifies that the startup configuration receives a copy of the running configuration.
checkpoint <CHECKPOINT-NAME>Specifies that the named checkpoint receives a copy of the running configuration. The command requires that the specified checkpoint does not exist yet. The checkpoint name can be alphanumeric. It can also contain underscores (_) and dashes (-).
