HPE Synergy Software Releases - What's New?

★HPE Synergy Composer2 (HPE OneView) 9.1

HPE Synergy Composer2 (HPE OneView) 9.1 is now available. This release contains no significant enhancements but does contain the following fixes.

  • Resolved- Upgrading to HPE OneView 8.70 - 9.0 may fail during an iLO firmware update on the HPE Synergy Composer2. For more information, see Customer Advisory a00142318.

  • Resolved - Rest API Service (RAS) does not implement limit of number of access_logs and can cause an incomplete support dump. For more information, see Customer Advisory a00142424.

★HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2024.07.xx – July 2024

HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2024.07.03 includes the same OS support introduced with HPE SSP 2024.07.01 and HPE SSP 2024.07.02:

  • Support for SUSE LInux Enterprise Server 15 SP6 (not supported with HPE SSP 2024.07.01)

  • Support for VMware ESXi 8.0 U3

  • Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 and 9.4

  • Support for Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS

  • OS FIPS Mode support for Linux rpm components

HPE SSP 2024.07.xx contains the following known issues and limitations:

  • The HPE Synergy 3530C 16G FC HBA and HPE Synergy 5330C 32Gb FC HBA are not supported for coexistence in the same HPE Synergy compute node.

  • The HPE Synergy 3530C 16G FC HBA is not supported on VMware ESXi 8.x, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux.

  • The HPE Synergy 3820C 10/20Gb Converged Network Adapter (CNA) is not supported on VMware ESXi 8.x, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x, or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5.

  • HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 Controllers - Redfish events are not generated for Smart Storage cache and battery changes after the Smart Array Controller is upgraded to firmware version 6.22. For more information, see Customer Advisory a00134912.

  • HPE Smart Array SR Controllers - HPE OneView may not clear a critical drive failure alert after the failed logical drive is re-enabled. For more information, see Customer Advisory a00140765.

  • HPE Synergy Service Pack SY-2024.07.0x is the last SSP to support updated firmware and drivers for the HPE Synergy 3820c 10/20Gb Converged Network Adapter, which has reached the end of software support.

  • HPE Synergy 3830 and 5830 (16Gb and 32GB) Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters - Offline firmware update may fail when using HPE SSP 2024.07.0x if attempting to perform the update using HPE Smart Update Manager (SUM). For more information, see Customer Advisory a00141706.

NOTE:

HPE Synergy unmanaged switch firmware is independent of HPE Synergy Service Packs (SSP) and is not part of the SSP. HPE always recommends running the latest firmware to ensure you have the latest security patches, bug fixes, and enhancements.

★HPE Synergy Composer2 (HPE OneView) 9.0

HPE Synergy Composer2 (HPE OneView) 9.0 includes the following enhancements.

  • Managing the HPE iLO Security Dashboard using server profiles or server profile templates.

    • New REST and UI options are available to enable or disable the HPE iLO Ignore security status. This tracking option is available in the HPE iLO settings section in server profiles and server profile templates for all HPE iLO Security Dashboard items.

  • HPE OneView supports new alerts for HPE Synergy Frame Link Module 5.0 firmware.

  • New alerts have been added to notify when communication issues were encountered between the Frame Link Module and the Controller Area Network Management Interface Controller (CANmic) info block interface on storage blades and interconnects.

  • HPE OneView support for disabling MAC learning by API.

    • Provides REST API interface to initiate SNMP SET calls to disable or enable MAC learning on Tunnel networks for non-redundant HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for HPE Synergy logical interconnect or logical interconnect group.
