Scanning for Sites

When the Aruba OfficeConnect Wi-Fi Portal app connects, the device begins to scan the wireless network for Aruba OfficeConnect Wi-Fi Portal sites.

If there are no pre-configured or non-configured Aruba OfficeConnect Wi-Fi Portal sites, the application tries to detect the presence of a site. A special URL runs in the background and returns a login interface when an Aruba OfficeConnect Wi-Fi Portal site is detected. After detecting the login interface and validating the previously stored user credentials, the app attempts to log in the user and proceed to the landing page. If the stored credentials are not valid, the app prompts the user to enter new credentials.

If only one site is detected after scanning, the app connects to the site and retrieves the initial setup pages. The initial setup pages are retrieved only if the site is being configured on the app for the first time, else the app directly tries to sign in the user.

If no sites are detected in the network by the device, the application displays the Unable to Connect to an OfficeConnect Site message. To troubleshoot this issue, follow the on-screen instructions and enter the appropriate answers to the questions displayed.
