Working with RMC-V Remote Copies
Remote Copy configuration is a collection of replication groups that contain virtual volumes that are exposed to the ESXi hosts managed in a vCenter Server. These replication groups are called Remote Copy Groups in the HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage systems.
RMC-V supports the following replication modes for Remote Copy groups:
Synchronous
Asynchronous Periodic
Asynchronous Streaming
Synchronous Long Distance
RMC Remote Copy Configuration supports only
1:1
configurations. The
1:N
and
N:1
configurations are not supported.
NOTE: RMC-V does not allow using volumes from a Remote Copy group as a VMDK to another VM, that is part of the same Remote Copy group. Also, a configuration where Remote Copy group volumes are attached as virtual or physical RDM to a VM, that is not part of the Remote Copy group is not supported. Remote snapshots are not supported on VMware virtual volumes.
