Protecting VMware resources — VM, datastore, or storage folder

To protect a VM, datastore, or a storage folder, assign a Copy Policy. On assigning a Copy Policy, RMC creates and manages the life cycle of the VM copies or datastore copies according to the defined copy rules.

Procedure

Right-click the VMware resource (VM, datastore, or storage folder) and then click All HPE Recovery Manager Central Actions > Add Protection.
Select the protection type:
- To run the protection once, click Protect Once.
- To create a schedule, click Add Protection.
Select a Copy Policy.

NOTE:
If the Copy Policy has AUTO option selected in any of the fields, then you cannot add protection for a storage folder.
