Preparing to protect a VMware resource

Before you protect a VMware resource, you have to prepare your environment for the protection. The following is an overview of the required tasks:

Procedure
  1. Add Storage Devices — HPE 3PAR, HPE Primera, HPE Nimble Storage and HPE StoreOnce.
    1. Configure RMC Copy Repositories for HPE StoreOnce.
    2. (Optional) Configure iSCSI ports.
  2. Review the default RMC Copy Policies. Customize a default Copy Policy or create a new policy based on your requirements.
  3. (Optional) To protect multiple VMware resources all at once with a single Copy Policy, create Protection Groups.
  4. Assign Copy Policies to VMs, datastores, storage folders, and Protection Groups.
