Migrating all Microsoft Exchange Servers

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that all the Exchange servers and backup servers are upgraded to RMC-E and added to RMC.

  • Ensure that all the storage systems are added to RMC.

  • Ensure that all Exchange servers and backup servers with remote snapshots are upgraded to RMC-E and are added to relevant remote RMC appliances.

  • Ensure that all the remote RMC appliances and storage systems for remote appliances are added.

  • Ensure that all the databases are listed in the Databases page and are in Available state. (Databases on remote RMC appliances can be in error state).

  • Ensure that there are no snapshot or backup policies scheduled to run during the migration process.

Procedure
  1. Click HPE Recovery Manager Central > Exchange Databases > Servers.
  2. On the master pane of the Servers screen, select a server.
  3. Click Actions > Migrate All Servers .

    Migrate All Servers dialog appears.

  4. Select or clear Ignore Errors option to ignore the errors (that are either minor or cannot be fixed) that appear during the migration process.
  5. Click Ok to proceed.
    NOTE:

    • Review the schedules post migration.

    • Post migration, always review the database settings and migrated policies. The migration process automatically selects a policy from a set of policies for an Exchange database.

    • Check all snapshots and backups are migrated.
