Assigning IP address information and DNS details

The option to manually assign an IP address and DNS allows you to modify the IP settings (IPv4 address, subnet mask, and gateway) and the DNS settings (primary, secondary, and tertiary DNS server) of the network interface, or the network teams interface.

Prerequisites

Review and understand the Network Team interface properties.
Have an IP address, subnet mask, and gateway (optional) available to use for the network team interface.
Have DNS server information available (primary, secondary, tertiary).

Procedure

Click Settings in the left navigation menu.
Click Networking & Proxy Settings.
- To modify the settings for a network interface, click Network Interfaces, and then select the network interface you want to modify.
- To modify the settings for a network team interface, click Network Teams Interfaces, and then select the network team interface you want to modify.
Click the edit ().
Select the mode, and then enter the appropriate details.
Click Apply.
