HPE Synergy First Time Setup

NOTE:

The setup must be performed by the authorized personnel of the customer, for example, the data center administrator or the technician.

From the Front Panel, Setup wizard can be accessed, which guides through the installation process. It tracks the progress, providing status updates to the installation technician.

There are four basic steps in the installation process:

  1. Setting up the rack and cables according to blueprint portmap
  2. Entering valid credentials
  3. Assigning an IP address to the Composer
  4. The rest of the installation process is automated.

    Each Frame Link Module has a link port and a management uplink port. Frame Link Modules are connected through their link ports. The management ring is then connected to the customer's management network through the management uplinks on two Frame Link Modules. In a multi-frame configuration, the Frame Link Modules connecting to the customer's management network are located in different frames.

    The Synergy front panel provides local access to installation, setup, updates and diagnostic functions. For the initial setup, OneView can accessed by connecting the workstation to the Synergy Front Panel.
