Assigning static iLO IP address to m510 server cartridges in HPE EL4000 Edgeline System

Prerequisites

Ensure to power off all the m510 server cartridges of the HPE EL4000 Edgeline System.

Procedure
  1. To identify the first m510 server cartridge, see the Component identification section in HPE Edgeline EL4000 System User Guide.
  2. Using the USB-to-serial cable (HPE part number 871947-B21), connect the USB end of this cable to the USB port on this cartridge.
  3. Attach the serial end of the USB-to-serial cable to a serial port of your computer using a null modem cable.
    NOTE:

    For more information about connecting the serial cable, see the Accessing the System Utilities menu section in HPE Edgeline EL4000 System User Guide.

  4. Power on the first m510 server cartridge.
  5. During the power-up process, press the F9 key.

    The System Utilities screen appears.

  6. Navigate to System Configuration > iLO 4 Configuration Utility > Network Options.
  7. Set the DHCP Enable to OFF.
  8. Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and the Gateway Address information of the first m510 server cartridge.
    NOTE:

    The details of these network parameters are available in your input JSON file.

  9. To navigate back to the System Utilities screen, press Esc.

    When prompted to save the modified settings, press Save/Yes.

  10. When prompted by iLO to reset in order for the new settings to be used, press Save/Yes.
