Installation of NPS toolkit Host

Perform the following steps to install NPS toolkit host.

Procedure
  1. Create and boot a new VM with RHEL 7.7 using RHEL 7.7 DVD iso image requirement
    1. rhel-server-7.6-x86_64-dvd.iso
    2. Disk 300 GiB capacity, 8192MB RAM and 4 CPU allocation
    3. In the SOFTWARE SELECTION page select Basic Web Server as Base Environment and Python under Add-Ons for Selected Environment
  2. When the installation wizard starts, from the SOFTWARE SELECTION page, in the INSTALLATION SUMMARY window, select INSTALLATION DESTINATION, the installation destination window appears.
  3. Under Other Storage Options for Partitioning, select I will configure partitioning and click Done
  4. Since 300GiB is used, the GiB has to be converted to MiB.

    Total capacity 300GiB = 300x1024= 307200 MiB

    for / 83% of the total capacity is provided.

    for /home 10% of the total capacity is provided.

    for /boot 2500 MiB is provided.

    for /boot/efi 2500 MiB is provided.

  5. In the MANUAL PARTITIONING window, click + symbol. A ADD A NEW MOUNT POINT window appears. Select / from the Mount Point drop-down list and enter 254976 MiB in Desired Capacity and click Add mount point.
  6. In the MANUAL PARTITIONING window, again click + symbol. A ADD A NEW MOUNT POINT window appears. Select /home from the Mount Point drop-down list and enter 30720 MiB in Desired Capacity. Then click Add mount point.
  7. In the MANUAL PARTITIONING window, again click + symbol. A ADD A NEW MOUNT POINT window appears. Select biosboot from the Mount Point drop-down list and enter 2500 MiB in Desired Capacity. Then click Add mount point.
  8. After selecting Done, a pop-up appears prompting to accept the changes. Click Accept Changes and click Begin Installation.
  9. Assign the password for ROOT user.
    NOTE:

    Ignore if any warning message is displayed.

  10. After successful installation, reboot the system by clicking Reboot.
