Example: Configuring static domain name resolution

Network configuration

As shown in Figure 45, the host at 1::2 is named host.com. Configure static IPv6 DNS on the device so that the device can use the easy-to-remember domain name rather than the IPv6 address to access the host.

By default, interfaces on the device are disabled (in ADM or Administratively Down state). To have an interface operate, you must use the undo shutdown command to enable that interface.
