MDT-based MVPN tasks at a glance

To configure MDT-based MVPN, perform the following tasks on PEs:

1. Configuring MDT-based MVPN

   1. Enabling IP multicast routing for a VPN instance

   2. Creating an MDT-based MVPN instance

   3. Creating an MVPN address family

   4. Specifying the default-group

   5. Specifying the MVPN source interface

   6. (Optional.) Configuring MDT switchover parameters

   7. (Optional.) Configuring the RPF vector feature

   8. (Optional.) Enabling data-group reuse logging

   9. (Optional.) Setting the DSCP value for outgoing data-group switchover packets

2. Configuring BGP MDT

   If PIM-SSM is running on the public network, you must configure BGP MDT.

   1. Configuring BGP MDT peers or peer groups

   2. (Optional.) Configuring a BGP MDT route reflector
