Enabling BIDIR-PIM

As a best practice, enable PIM-SM on all non-border interfaces of devices when you deploy a BIDIR-PIM domain.

1. Enter system view.

   system-view

2. Enable IP multicast routing and enter MRIB view.

   multicast routing [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name ]

   By default, IP multicast routing is disabled.

3. Return to system view.

   quit

4. Enter interface view.

   interface interface-type interface-number

5. Enable PIM-SM.

   pim sm

   By default, PIM-SM is disabled.

6. Return to system view.

   quit

7. Enter PIM view.

   pim [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name ]

8. Enable BIDIR-PIM.

   bidir-pim enable

   By default, BIDIR-PIM is disabled.
