Configuring a port as a simulated member host

About simulated member hosts

When a port is configured as a simulated member host, it is equivalent to an independent host in the following ways:

The version of IGMP running on the simulated member host is the same as the version of IGMP snooping running on the port. The port ages out in the same way as a dynamic member port.

Procedure

  1. Enter system view.

    system-view

  2. Enter Layer 2 interface view.

    • Enter Layer 2 Ethernet interface view.

      interface interface-type interface-number

    • Enter Layer 2 aggregate interface view.

      interface bridge-aggregation interface-number

  3. Configure the port as a simulated member host.

    igmp-snooping host-join group-address [ source-ip source-address ] vlan vlan-id

By default, the port is not a simulated member host.
