IRF physical interface requirements
Candidate IRF physical interfaces
Use 10GBase-T Ethernet ports, SFP+ ports, and QSFP+ ports for IRF links.
Ports enabled with the MACsec feature cannot be used as IRF physical interfaces. For more information about the MACsec feature, see Security Configuration Guide.
Selecting transceiver modules and cables
When you select transceiver modules and cables, follow these restrictions and guidelines:
Use Category 6A (or above) twisted-pair cables to connect 10GBase-T Ethernet ports in a short distance.
Use SFP+ or QSFP+ DAC cables to connect SFP+ or QSFP+ ports in a short distance.
Use SFP+ or QSFP+ transceiver modules and fibers to connect SFP+ or QSFP+ ports in a long distance.
The transceiver modules at the two ends of an IRF link must be the same type.
For more information about the cables and transceiver modules available for IRF links, see the switch installation guide. For a detailed description of the transceiver modules, see HPE Comware-Based Devices Transceiver Modules User Guide.
NOTE: The modules and DAC cables available for IRF links are subject to change over time. For the most up-to-date list of modules and DAC cables for IRF links, contact your Hewlett Packard Enterprise sales representative. | ||
