Configuring a PPPoE session

There are two types of PPPoE sessions:

You can establish a PPPoE session on an Ethernet port or a VE interface created on an ADSL interface. To enable a device to access the Internet through an ADSL interface, establish a PPPoE session on a virtual Ethernet interface. To enable a device to access the Internet through an ADSL modem attached to an Ethernet interface, you must establish the PPPoE session on the Ethernet interface.

For more information about creating a PPPoE session on a virtual Ethernet interface, see "Configuring ATM."
