neighbor passive
Syntax
neighbor {<IP-ADDRESS>|<PEER-GROUP-NAME>} passive
no neighbor {<IP-ADDRESS>|<PEER-GROUP-NAME>} passive
Description
This command makes the neighbor not initiate the TCP session. When this command is applied for the peer-group, all the neighbors associated with that peer-group will not initiate the TCP session.
The neighbor connection must be reset using
clear ip bgp
<NEIGHBOR-IP-ADDRESS>
to allow this configuration to take effect.
The
no
form of this command enables the neighbor to initiate the TCP session for the specified neighbor or peer-group.
