neighbor password
Syntax
neighbor {<IP-ADDRESS>|<PEER-GROUP-NAME>} password {ciphertext|plaintext} <PASSWORD-STRING>
no neighbor {<IP-ADDRESS>|<PEER-GROUP-NAME>} password
Description
Enables message digest5 (MD5) authentication on a TCP connection between two BGP neighbors. When the password is applied to peer-group, all the neighbors that are part of peer-group inherit the value configured.
The neighbor connection must be reset using
clear ip bgp
<NEIGHBOR-IP-ADDRESS>
to allow this configuration to take effect.
The
no
form of this command disables this function.
