Time synchronization protocols
Use the
timesync
command to set the time synchronization protocol, either
SNTP
or
TimeP
.
- SNTP—To run SNTP as the switch's time synchronization protocol, you must also select SNTP as the time synchronization method using the CLI
timesync
command, or the menu interface Time Sync Method parameter. - TimeP—You can manually assign the switch to use a TimeP server or use DHCP to assign the TimeP server. In either case, the switch can get its time synchronization updates from only one, designated TimeP server. This option enhances security by specifying which time server to use.
