The HPE supplied Emulex driver and enablement kit must be installed prior to this firmware component being identified by HP SUM for deployment. The driver and enablement kit are available on the HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2016.02.0 which is available at www.hpe.com/servers/spp/download.

Linux FC Driver Kit for HPE Branded Emulex FC HBAs and mezz cards, version 10.7.110.34, for Red Hat 6, Red Hat 7, and Novell SUSE 11, SUSE12

HPE Fibre Channel Enablement Kit for Linux, HP-CNA-FC-Emulex_Enablement-Kit, version 10.7.110.34.

The Enablement Kit requires that the target environment have the libHBAAPI package installed from your OS installation media.

Install the FC Driver Kit, reboot, and then install the Enablement Kit.

Additional requirements:

Environment must be running the syslog daemon for the flash engine to run
Environment must have 32-bit netlink library (libnl.so) installed for component to be able to discover Emulex HBAs

Reboot Requirement:
Reboot is required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained.


Installation:

Firmware installation is a two-step process.  Install the firmware installation tool rpm, then execute the installed tool to update the firmware.
 
 1. Install the firmware installation tool:  rpm -Uhv <rpm_package_name>.rpm  This extracts the firmware installation tool to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu (64-bit systems) or /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu (32-bit systems) in an hp-firmware-* folder.
 
 2. cd to the appropriate location for your system, and update the firmware by executing ./.hpsetup
 
 When the firmware installation completes, you may remove the firmware installation tool from your system using the rpm -e command.

HPE Fibre Channel Enablement Kit for Linux, HP-CNA-FC-Emulex_Enablement-Kit, version 10.7.110.34.

The Enablement Kit requires that the target environment have the libHBAAPI package installed from your OS installation media.

Install the FC Driver Kit, reboot, and then install the Enablement Kit.

Additional requirements:

Environment must be running the syslog daemon for the flash engine to run
Environment must have 32-bit netlink library (libnl.so) installed for component to be able to discover Emulex HBAs

Reboot Requirement:
Reboot is required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained.


Installation:

Firmware installation is a two-step process.  Install the firmware installation tool rpm, then execute the installed tool to update the firmware.
 
 1. Install the firmware installation tool:  rpm -Uhv <rpm_package_name>.rpm  This extracts the firmware installation tool to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu (64-bit systems) or /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu (32-bit systems) in an hp-firmware-* folder.
 
 2. cd to the appropriate location for your system, and update the firmware by executing ./.hpsetup
 
 When the firmware installation completes, you may remove the firmware installation tool from your system using the rpm -e command.

  • Fix "Boot BIOS is Disabled!" message on a clean adapter
  • Only one boot entry in boot menu but two different boot LUNs are configured
  • Elx appears twice in boot menu although only one target is mapped

UEFI:

  • Boot from 3par array with RHEL host does not post boot from SAN installation
  • Target connect with HP 82E adapter can’t be shown in BIOS if setting Storage Option Rom Policy to UEFI only
