Installation:

For installation and operation guidance, please refer to “HPE Apollo Platform Manager User Guide” at  http://www.hpe.com/support/APM_UG_en.

You can perform firmware upgrades using either FTP or TFTP.

To perform an upgrade:

  1. Place the firmware image file onto a system that provides an FTP or TFTP server and is accessible from the HPE Advanced Power Manager’s (HPE-APM) network.
  2. Log in to the HPE-APM CLI interface using a serial port, Telnet, or SSH connection.
  3. Depending on which protocol you choose, enter either of the following commands:
  • UPGRADE IMAGE FTP <ip_address> <"login_name"> <"password"> <"filename">
  • UPGRADE IMAGE TFTP <ip_address> <"filename">

where:

  • <"ip_address"> refers to the IP address of a server that contains the file to be transferred
  • <"login_name"> refers to the FTP user name on the server hosting the file
  • <"password"> refers to the password of the FTP user name
  • <"filename"> refers to the file to be transferred, note that <filename> must be enclosed in quotes to preserve case

NOTE: The login name, password, and filename must be in quotations. For example,
UPDATE IMAGE FTP x.x.x.x "username" "alphabravo" "filename.bin"

After the image file being transferred and flashed, HPE-APM will prompt for a reset for image to be active.

IMPORTANT: If an upgrade is performed using either a Telnet or a SSH, the connection to the HPE-APM will be lost after the upgrade.
