HP Lights-Out Online Configuration utility is a command line utility used to configure iLO and RILOE II from within the Linux operating system without requiring a reboot of the server.

Added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.

Prerequisites:
This utility requires the following minimum firmware revisions:

  • Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition II firmware 1.13 or later.
  • Integrated Lights-Out firmware version 1.41 or later.
This utility does not operate with the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition (RILOE I).

The management interface driver and management agents must be installed on the server.


Installation:
Login as the system administrator (root), download the RPM to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.

If a previous version of the Hponcfg utility has been installed, it must be removed before this package can be installed. To remove the previous version of the package, type the following :

    rpm -e hponcfg
To install the package, type:
    rpm -ivh hponcfg-.linux.rpm
After installation, the executable for hponcfg utility can be found under the directory /sbin.

    HPONCFG 1.2 allows dynamic variable substitution.
    XML scripts can contain variables. Values for these variables can be specified as command line argument when executing HPONCFG. This reduces the need to re-write XML scripts with different values for configuration parameters.

    When HPONCFG 1.2 writes current iLO/RILOE II configuration information to a file, it writes them in RIBCL format. This configuration file can be used directly to restore the iLO/RILOE II configuration. This will help the users to easily store and restore iLO/RILEO II configuration information.

    Description
