Prerequisites:
CAUTION: Updating the firmware of disk drives in a virtual disk risks the loss of data and causes the drives to be temporarily inaccessible.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that no other user is performing administrative functions on the P2000/MSA2000 storage system
NOTE: Disk drive upgrades on the HP P2000/MSA2000 is an offline process. All host and array I/O must be stopped prior to the upgrade. For more information, see the HP Family Modular Storage Array 2000 reference guide.

Reboot Requirement: Reboot is not required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained.
Installation:
Place the downloaded firmware package in a temporary
directory.

Open a Linux command console.

From the directory containing the downloaded file, enable
execute access to this module by entering chmod +x CPxxxxxx.scexe , where CPxxxxxx.scexe
represents the downloaded file. -
Execute the Smart Component by entering a command similar to
the following: ./CPxxxxxx.scexe
--target <ip_address> --user <username> --passwd
<password> - Follow onscreen instructions.

the -e or -f option when flashing a device, even if it is
up to date.

downgrading.
