Added the following support:

  • HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP)
  • Auto-download SPP from hp.com
Previous releases of VCRM can download SPPs, but are not able to populate the VCRM catalog with the Smart Components included in the SPP. If using a previous VCRM release, then the SPP Smart Components can be added to the catalog by doing one of the following actions:
    • Manually extract the Smart Components from the SPP, copy them to the repository, and then rescan the repository.
    • Or, ideally, upgrade to Version Control 7.0.0 where SPP support is available.
VCRM 7.0.0 or older, does not auto-delete or auto-archive downloaded SPP images. It is advisable to delete the un-used SPP images manually, to save disk space.
  • Offline firmware components
VCRM now supports offline components to be available in the catalog.  Although offline components cannot be deployed through Version Control Agent, they can be deployed using HP System Insight Manager Version 7.0.

  • Security vulnerability to which OpenSSL is generally vulnerable. This vulnerability has the potential to allow a timing attack on OpenSSL that in effect allows an attacker, through creating millions of invalid SSL/TSL connections, to perform a single RSA private key operation on a ciphertext of its choice using the server's RSA key, without actually compromising the server's RSA key. OpenSSL version 0.9.6j addresses this vulnerability and was incorporated to remedy this.

Added the following support:

  • HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP)
