Place the Smart Component in a temporary directory, then double-click it to run.

Select "Install" to start extracting to a temporary location on the hard drive.

Click the "Install" button to perform the service installation.

  • Added configurable polling interval option in the registry for Active Health System (AHS) logging of host CPU and Memory utilization:
    • CPU and Memory utilization used to be logged to AHS every minute, thus potentially causing AHS storage to be full.
    • CPU and Memory utilization is now logged to AHS once upon startup, but a registry key can be created to log more if needed.
      Registry key: HKLM\System\HPAMSAHS, Registry value: QuietPeriodInMinutes (DWORD), from 1 minute to 1440 minutes (i.e. 1 day).
  • Added configurable logging feature to generate log files on local host. The default log size will be 64MB, log level will be Informational(1) and file path: %ProgramFiles%\OEM\AMS\Logs.
    The optional log file size, path and level can be modified by changing the registry values at : HKLM\SYSTEM\AMSLOGCFG

Corrected the following issues:

  • Incorrect data for SAS drives:
    • The drive placement value in cpqSasPhyDrvPlacement OID was not correctly reported as internal or external.
    • No bay number was reported in the cpqSasPhyDrvLocationString OID.
    • The data in the cpqSasPhydrvEntry OID was not updated to reflect that a drive had been removed.
    • The "drive removed" trap was not generated upon the drive being removed, but was generated when the drive was inserted later, along with the "drive inserted" trap.
  • Incorrect data for SATA drives:
    • For SATA drives connected to SAS, the rotational speed in the cpqSasPhyDrvRotationalSpeed OID was incorrectly reported as "Other".
    • For SATA SSDs, the cpqSasPhyDrvMediaType OID reported "rotatingPlatters(2)" instead of "solidState(3)".
  • No data was returned in the cpqSasPhyDrvAuthenticationStatus, cpqSasPhyDrvSmartCarrierAppFWRev, or cpqSasPhyDrvSmartCarrierBootldrFWRev OIDs for physical drives residing in Smart Carriers.
  • No data was returned in the cpqIdeController table.

  • Incorrect data for SAS drives:
    • The drive placement value in cpqSasPhyDrvPlacement OID was not correctly reported as internal or external.
    • No bay number was reported in the cpqSasPhyDrvLocationString OID.
    • The data in the cpqSasPhydrvEntry OID was not updated to reflect that a drive had been removed.
    • The "drive removed" trap was not generated upon the drive being removed, but was generated when the drive was inserted later, along with the "drive inserted" trap.
  • Incorrect data for SATA drives:
    • For SATA drives connected to SAS, the rotational speed in the cpqSasPhyDrvRotationalSpeed OID was incorrectly reported as "Other".
    • For SATA SSDs, the cpqSasPhyDrvMediaType OID reported "rotatingPlatters(2)" instead of "solidState(3)".
  • No data was returned in the cpqSasPhyDrvAuthenticationStatus, cpqSasPhyDrvSmartCarrierAppFWRev, or cpqSasPhyDrvSmartCarrierBootldrFWRev OIDs for physical drives residing in Smart Carriers.
  • No data was returned in the cpqIdeController table.
