Version:5.6.0.64 (13 Apr 2006)
Fixes

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Resolved the following:

  • Issue where events from certain embedded controllers were not being reported correctly.
  • Issue where some events were not being reported correctly due to the registry not being cleaned up properly when the service was stopped and restarted.
  • Issue where the storage agent would not log events correctly for a device if it was disabled and later re-enabled using Windows device manager. This was due to cissesrv not properly maintaining the registry for disabled devices.
Enhancements

Updated the following:

  • SAS/SATA events are now reported to the IML.
Note: The IML Viewer from SS 7.50 (or later) must be used with this version of cissesrv to correctly view SAS/SATA events.
  • Added SAS support for events involving failed reads and/or writes during logical drive rebuilds.
  • Unknown events from the Smart Array firmware are now logged to the OS event log. Previous versions of cissesrv did not log unknown events.
  • Added registry parameter key to allow users to change various parameters of the service.
  • Improved timer scheme for event polling which reduces the amount of time required when manually stopping the service.
Component installer was enhanced to leave the component XML file (cpxxxxxx.xml) in a known location (%SystemDrive%\CPQSYSTEM\) so the HP Management and Version Control agents can retrieve information about the installed components on the server.

Version:6.0.0.64(B) (13 Dec 2006)
Enhancements

Upgrade Requirement:
Optional - Users should update to this version if their system is affected by one of the documented fixes or if there is a desire to utilize any of the enhanced functionality provided by this version.

Updated wording for Event ID 24592 which is used to process redundant power supply events. The wording was changed to give additional clarity for this specific event.

SAS/SATA event service now uses "1" based numbering when reporting fan, power supply and A/C events to the HP Proliant Integrated Management Log (IML) and HP Integrity System Event Log (SEL). This places IML and SEL reporting in sync with the one based reporting already in use for fan, power supply and A/C events that get reported to the Windows system event log.

Hot add of hard drives are now correctly displayed in the IML and SEL as “repair” events.

Added support for the HP Smart Array E500 controller.
