This driver provides support for the HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 Editions.

To use the driver while installing Microsoft Windows Server 2008:

In this scenario, the driver will be loaded during the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system installation. To install the driver:

  1. Create a driver disk by extracting the contents of the Smart Component to a removable USB drive.
  2. Start installing Microsoft Windows 2008 operating system.
  3. While creating the partition, insert the removable USB drive you created in Step 1 and select ‘Load Driver’ and browse to the respective directory on the USB drive where driver files are present.
  4. Install the driver.
  5. Continue with creating drive partition and continue installation.

Installing the driver on a system already running Microsoft Windows Server 2008:

In this scenario, you are installing a driver in a system that already has Microsoft Windows Server 2008 installed. To install the driver:

  1. Download the Smart Component to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The downloaded file is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the Smart Component Number.
  2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file to install the driver.
