The HP ProLiant Array Diagnostics and SmartSSD Wear Gauge Utility (GUI and CLI) for Windows contains a web browser based graphical user interface as well as a command line version of the tool that gathers diagnostic information and creates a report of all HP storage controllers and disk drives. This report provides vital information to HP service personnel to assist in identifying faults or conditions that may require attention.

Reboot Requirement:
Reboot is not required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained.


Installation:
Download the Smart Component to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The downloaded file is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the Smart Component Number.

From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file.

Click the "Install" button to proceed with the installation. The utility will automatically be installed.

When the installation is complete, click the Start button and navigate to Programs/HP System Tools/HP Array Diagnostics and SmartSSD Wear Gauge Utility (GUI and CLI).  This will run the Windows interface which is used to generate a Diagnostic report.

Important:

The Array Diagnostics and SmartSSD Wear Gauge Utility (GUI and CLI) for Windows, by default, runs a simple GUI interface that will generate a report that can then be saved.

To run the utility in command-line mode:

  1. Start a command prompt (running as Administrator)
  2. At the command prompt, change the directory to where the hpaducli.exe binary is installed
    1. This is typically  cd "\program files\compaq\hpaducli\bin"
  3. Execute the program
    1. Usage: hpaducli -f OutputFileName.zip | [ -h|-help ] | [ -v ]

                    where OutputFileName is the name of the file to create for the adu output

                     the .zip extension is required for proper viewing
                    -v specifes verbose output, and -h or -help is for help

     The hpaducli output is in compressed zip format

     Example:  hpaducli -f adu-report.zip


Notes:

The compressed zip file output contains the following files:

   * ADUReport.txt
   * ADUReport.xml
   * ADUReportTransform.xsl
   * ADUReportViewer.htm

The ADUReport.txt file contains an ASCII report.

The ADUReportViewer.htm file can be opened in a browser to get a web based xml
formatted report for easier viewing.
