This release provides updated system ROM images for the latest maintenance releases of HP ProLiant DL140 G3 Servers.

To ensure the integrity of your download, HP recommends verifying your results with this MD5 Checksum value:

Installation:

This Enhanced SoftPaq contains utilities that can be used to restore and/or update the system ROM on the HP ProLiant Server.

1. Download the Enhanced SoftPaq to a directory on a system running Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows Vista and change to that directory.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded Enhanced SoftPaq file simply by double clicking on the SPxxxxx file and follow the installation wizard to complete the Enhanced SoftPaq installation process. At the end of a successful installation of the Enhanced SoftPaq, a web page will automatically appear to provide you with the different methods for restoring and/or upgrading the firmware on the system.

IMPORTANT: When upgrading to BIOS version 1.17 (2008.07.17) HP strongly suggests that the BMC version 2.21 is also installed on the system in order for proper server operation.

This Enhanced SoftPaq version contains new functionality that provides additional firmware upgrade options to the user. Please review the user documentation contained within this Enhanced SoftPaq to learn more about these new features. All files contained within and created by this Enhanced SoftPaq are specific to this Proliant Server. Files are not interchangeable with other Proliant Server Families.

 


Resolved an issue where, certain older hard disk drives were intermittently not booting. In particular, 80GB SATA NHP 7200R (sp:399967-001, FW:3.AJL); Model ST3808110AS HDD's.

Added a help message in the BIOS setup menu to inform users to disable 8042 emulation for certain OS's such as SLES9 x32/x64. Disabling 8042 emulation is needed to avoid intermittent system lockups.
