Management Component Pack for CentOS 7 is a collection of software packages and can be used to update agents and other support software for HPE ProLiant servers. The ReleaseNotes.txt file, which is available from this download page, describes the included packages. HPE has performed qualification testing with this software on selected HPE ProLiant Servers.

Reboot Requirement:
Reboot may be required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained.


Installation:

The Management Component Pack for CentOS 7 (x86_64) is a compressed tar file, which includes all available packages, may be copied to the Linux target server, and unpacked.

Alternatively, the MCP may be acquired from an online yum repository at "http://downloads.linux.hpe.com"

From a terminal prompt as an administrator, change into the respective sub-directory - Distribution/Version/Architecture/Release and perform the following command for each component desired:

Cut and paste the following section (substituting ditribution, architecture and project version) into /etc/yum.repos.d/mcp.repo on your system:

Installing Individual Packages:
 
HPE System Health Application and Command line Utilities:

The HP System Health Application and Command Line Utilities (hp-health) is a collection of applications and tools which enables monitoring of fans, power supplies, temperature sensors, and other management events. It also provides collection of command-line utilities: the ProLiant boot configuration utility (hpbootcfg), the ProLiant Management Command Line Interface Utility (hpasmcli), the ProLiant Integrated Management Log (IML) Utility (hplog), and the UID (blue) Light Utility (hpuid).
To install the hp-health package, run:
 
# yum install hp-health  or
# rpm –ivh hp-health
 
HP iLO online configuration utility:

Hponcfg is a command line utility that can be used to configure HP iLO from within the operating system without requiring a reboot of the server. To install the hponcfg package, run:

# yum install hponcfg or
# rpm –ivh hponcfg
 
Insight Management SNMP Agents for HPE ProLiant Systems:
 
The HP SNMP Agents (hp-snmp-agents) is a collection of SNMP protocol based agents and tools which enables monitoring of fans,power supplies,temperature sensors and other management events via SNMP.To install the hp-snmp-agents package, run:
 
# yum install hp-snmp-agents or
# rpm –ivh hp-snmp-agents

To configure the hp-snmp-agents package, run:
 
# /sbin/hpsnmpconfig
 
Finally, restart the hp-snmp-agents service:
 
# /etc/init.d/hp-snmp-agents restart
 
HPE System Management Homepage:

The HP System Management Homepage (hpsmh) provides a consolidated view for single server management highlighting tightly integrated management functionalities including performance, fault, security, diagnostic, configuration, and software change management. To install the hpsmh package, run:
 
# yum  install hpsmh or
# rpm –ivh hpsmh
 
HPE System Management Homepage Templates:
The HP System Management Homepage Templates for Linux (hp-smh-templates) contains the System Management Homepage Templates for Server, Management processor, NIC and Storage subsystems. The templates are a collection of html, javascript and php files that act as a GUI to display the SNMP data provided by each subsystems agent(s). This package is dependant on the hp-snmp-agents package and also on the hpsmh package to serve the pages to the browser. To install the hp-smh-templates package, run:
 
# yum install hp-smh-templates or
# rpm –ivh hp-smh-templates
 
HPE Command Line Array Configuration Utility:
The Array Configuration Utility CLI (hpssacli) is a command line based disk configuration program that allows you to configure Smart Array Controllers and RAID Array Controllers. To install hpssacli package, run::
 
# yum install hpssacli or
# rpm –ivh hpssacli
 
HPE Agentless Management Service

The HP Agentless Management Service (HP-ams) provides support for HP Integrated Lights-Out 4 (HP iLO 4) Embedded Health and Alerting.
 
# yum install hp-ams or
# rpm –ivh hp-ams

To check whether the package is loaded properly type:
 
# /etc/init.d/hp-ams status

 

These packages are also available from the HPE Software Delivery Repository http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/project/mcp/. Please refer to the Getting Started information to understand how to configure and use the Software Delivery Repository.
