VULNERABILITY SUMMARY

Several potential vulnerabilities have been identified in HPE 501 Client Bridge, Aruba 501 Client Bridge, and HPE M111 Client Bridge. The vulnerabilities can be used together to disclose information. The vulnerabilities are known as the WPA2 Key Re-installation Vulnerability.

The vulnerabilities are:

  • Re-installation of the pairwise key in the 4-way handshake (CVE-2017-13077)
  • Re-installation of the group key in the 4-way handshake (CVE-2017-13078)
  • Re-installation of the integrity group key in the 4-way handshake (CVE-2017-13079)
  • Re-installation of the group key in the group key handshake (CVE-2017-13080)
  • Re-installation of the integrity group key in the group key handshake (CVE-2017-13081)

RESOLUTION

HPE has provided the following resolution for the HPE 501 Client Bridge, and Aruba 501 client bridge at:

  • V1.0.1.3-HP501-B0012
  • V2.0.0.1-Aruba501-B0013

HPE will provide the following resolution for the HPE M111 Client Bridge (to be released before the end of October 2017):

  • The HPE M111 Client Bridge software will be posted through HPE My Networking Portal once available

The HPE 501 Client Bridge, Aruba 501 client bridge, and HPE M111 Client Bridge are not affected by these vulnerabilities:

  • Accepting a retransmitted FT Reassociation Request (CVE-2017-13082)
  • Re-installation of the STK key in the PeerKey handshake (CVE-2017-13084)
  • Re-installation of the Tunneled Direct-Link Setup PeerKey (CVE-2017-13086)
  • Re-installation of the Group Key when processing a WNM Sleep Mode Response (CVE-2017-13087)
  • Re-installation of the Integrity Group Key when processing a WNM Sleep Mode Response (CVE-2017-13088)
