RESOLUTION

HPE has provided the following resolution to mitigate this vulnerability in the impacted versions of iLO 4:

  • For iLO 4 firmware versions prior to v2.50, upgrade to iLO 4 firmware v2.50 and then select the configuration option provided in the next step.

The update is available at the following location: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5228286

  • For iLO 4 firmware v2.50, select the following configuration option:

Configure for "Enforce AES/3DES Encryption" or "FIPS" modes. This will disable 3DES-CBC ciphers for TLS connections.

Notes:

Selecting the option 'Enforce AES/3DES Encryption' in iLO 4 v2.50 will enforce the use of an AES cipher. 3DES ciphers that were allowed in the previous firmware versions of iLO 4 are no longer supported. The name of this option will change in a future version of firmware to more accurately define the functionality.

Please contact HPE Technical Support if any assistance is needed for acquiring the firmware or configuration.
