After installing VMware 5.5 using the HP custom image file, VMware-ESXi-5.5.0-Update1-1623387-HP-5.73.21-Mar2014.iso and then trying to update the Mellanox driver (MLNX-EN-ESX- using VMware Update Manager (VUM), the following error message will be displayed:

"The host returns esxupdate error code:14. There is an error when resolving dependencies. Check the Update Manager log files and esxupdate log files for more details."

Any HP ProLiant server running VMware 5.5.

To avoid this issue, do not use the MLNX driver version for the VMware Update Manager (VUM) install. The driver may still be used for a local install.
