Release Date: REQUIRED FIELD INADVERTENTLY LEFT BLANK Last Updated: 2013-04-09 DESCRIPTIONWhen installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, SUSE Enterprise Linux 10 SP4, or SUSE Enterprise Linux 11 SP1 (or later) on an HP ProLiant server with Input/Output Memory Management Unit (IOMMU) enabled and the HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i or HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i enabled, the HP server may panic on reboot. The HP driver (hpvsa) for the HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i and HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i controllers does not support IOMMU enablement. SCOPEAny HP ProLiant server when installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, SUSE Enterprise Linux 10 SP4, or SUSE Enterprise Linux 11 SP1 (or later) with IOMMU enabled and the HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i or HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i enabled. RESOLUTIONTo avoid the panic or server reboot, perform either of the following: Disable the IOMMU in the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU) if NOT required in the BIOS during the Power-On Self-Test (POST) by performing the following:
OR Disable the IOMMU in Linux if required in the BIOS during the POST (For SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 only) by performing the following:
