  2. Click Users/Authentication.

  3. Click Directory Settings.

  4. Check Enable LDAP Authentication.

  5. Do not uncheck Enable Local Users, a local account will be needed to login if the domain controller or network goes down, the account is disabled or some changes have been made for the OU structure.

  6. At Directory Server Address, type the address of the domain controller.

  7. At Directory Server SSL Port, type 636.

  8. At Search Context 1 type the OU (in LDAP format) that needs to grant access. Example: OU=Server Admins, OU=Admins, DC=example, DC=lan.

An easy way to find out the LDAP address of the OU, is browsing through the domain controller with an LDAP browser. Softerra LDAP Administrator is recommended, but there are many other tools that can do the trick.

  1. For configuring authentication against multiple domains, check: Use NT Account Name Mapping (DOMAIN\username). If only one Active Directory domain is available, do not put the DOMAIN\ before the account name.

  2. Next, click on Directory Groups.

  3. Click New.

  4. At Group Name, again type the OU in LDAP format. Type a description for your group.

  5. Configure Privilege Level, Group Permissions and Device Bay Access for this group.

  6. Click Add group.
