DETAILS

HPE SPP Version 2019.03.1 includes updates to the following firmware and software components:

System ROM Updates

HPE System ROM Version 2.04 includes the following updates that provide improved reliability and security:

Memory:

Fast Fault Tolerant Memory: HPE Gen10 server platforms, including ProLiant, Apollo, BladeSystem and Synergy systems using Intel Xeon Scalable Performance (SP) processors and version 2.04 of the System ROM (or later) will enable Fast Fault Tolerant Memory Mode when the system is configured for most workload profiles, including the default workload profile, for DIMM configurations that support this mode.

Fast Fault Tolerant Memory enables the system to detect and correct memory errors before the errors can negatively impact the system, resulting in improved system resiliency to memory issues that can cause:

  • DIMM Uncorrectable Memory Errors
  • Unexpected server reboots
  • Unexpected server crashes

Additional information is available here:

Processor microcode updates:

HPE Gen10 server platforms including ProLiant, Synergy, BladeSystem and Apollo systems using Intel Xeon Scalable Performance (SP) processors and version 2.04 of the System ROM will gain additional stability from the updated processor microcode to reduce the likelihood of:

  • Correctable or Uncorrectable Memory Errors
  • Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (UMCE) Errors
  • Unexpected server reboots
  • Unexpected server crashes

Security updates:

HPE System ROM Version 2.04 delivers additional security updates including, but not limited to information found at the following:

www.hpe.com/info/security-alerts

System ROM 2.04 includes security updates which address the Zombieload or Side Channel Vulnerability Micro architectural Data Sampling vulnerabilities announced May 14, 2019 as documented by:
