GDS 3PAR OS Upgrade Support - HPE Support Case Management Guide for Customers

Creating a New User ID

To log a case for a StoreServ OS/Patch Upgrade request, access the HPE Support Centre Website and follow the below steps to register.

This information is mandatory, and is required for HPE to support our Customers better. Provide us with the requested Additional information.

Submit a HPE Support Case

Login with your User ID and Password. Under Cases, click on “Submit a case

NOTE: Follow the steps below to direct your request to the relevant HPE Support Team
  1. Click on “Support Case Manager” to create a support case.

  2. Enter one of the details requested in the bracket. You may enter “3PAR Serial number” or a “SAID” and then click on “Submit case”. Update all the mandatory details (marked in red*) to create the ticket.

  3. Please tick the check box (Refer below picture) to create a case for 3PAR OS Upgrades and update the relevant details

  4. Mandatory “Case Title” format: <GDS> - <Copy paste product details> - <Request details>

    Example: GDS - HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8000 - 3PAR OS 3.3.1 MU3 Upgrade request

    Operating system/Version: Update the current 3PAR StoreServ OS version, which is on the storage array.

  5. Click on Submit to create the Support Case

Notifications after creating a Support Case

An automated email will be triggered post the creation of a Support Case. The Global Deployment Services (GDS) team will then contact the Customer to schedule the OS Upgrade/Patch.

While contacting HPE GDS Service Planning team, mention the Case ID number for further assistance on the case. The 3PAR array should carry a relevant contract to get the OS/Patch upgrade service.

NOTE: 3PAR array should have a “Software Update SVC” Contract to get the OS/Patch upgrade service, else the support case will be declined.

Update Notes on a Support Case

  1. Click on “Support Case Manager

  2. Click on "Case ID" to view/update the status

  3. On the Case Information page displayed, click on “Update, add attachment or request to close this case”. Make the required changes and then click on “Update”
