On any HPE ProLiant server running any Linux Operating System and configured with any of the following network adapters with firmware and Boot Code version 7.13.63 (or later),the jumbo frames sent from the network adapter do not arrive at their intended destination. This can occur with any jumbo frame traffic from backup jobs to a simple ping using jumbo frames.

SCOPE

Any HPE ProLiant server running any Linux Operating System and configured with any of the following network adapters with firmware and Boot Code version 7.13.63 (or later):

  • HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 533FLR-T Adapter
  • HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534FLB Adapter
  • HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534FLR-SFP+ Adapter
  • HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534M Adapter
  • HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 4-port 536FLR-T Adapter

Note: This issue was noted specifically on systems running Linux Operating Systems, but it may affect any Operating System and other 57810S based network adapters as well.

RESOLUTION

A a workaround, downgrade firmware and Boot Code Version 7.13.23 (or prior), available at the following URLs:

OR

Disable Data Center Bridging (DCB) on the network adapter via the system BIOS/F9 options during boot by performing the following steps:

  1. During POST, press F9
  2. Select System Configuration

  3. Select the network adapter and each port, for example Embedded FlexibleLOM Port 1: 534FLR (This change needs to be made for each port connected to the network)

  4. Select Device Hardware Configuration Menu

  5. Set the DCB Protocol as "Disable"

This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available.
