DESCRIPTION

When Email (SMTP) settings are configured in the HPE StoreVirtual Centralized Management Console and the initial "Apply and Test" attempt fails due to an unresponsive email server (mail server configuration or network communication issue), subsequent attempts to "Apply and Test" will fail immediately even if the configuration or communication issue has been resolved.

SCOPE

All versions of StoreVirtual Centralized Management Consoles are affected by this issue.

RESOLUTION

Once the mail server configuration or network communication issue has been resolved:

  1. Edit the Email Server IP or Hostname and change the value to a fake IP Address or Hostname that is not used in the network.
  2. Click Apply.
  3. Change the setting back to the correct (valid) Server IP or Hostname.
  4. Click Apply and Test.

The test will be performed as expected.
