Maintaining HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends the following maintenance guidelines for updating your system components (OS, software, firmware, and drivers), depending on your environment.
It is recommended that the HPE StoreEasy systems be kept up to date with the latest Windows Cumulative and Security Updates. It is also important that the latest HPE firmware and drivers are also installed.
Microsoft Cumulative Updates are released each month. It is considered a best practice by HPE to update your system as these updates are released.
If unable to update due to corporate policies, then at a minimum the security updates must be installed to protect your system from the latest threats, you can download and install specific security updates as needed from the Microsoft Security portal website:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that the latest HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) from www.hpe.com/info/spp be installed. Be sure to review the release notes that come with each SPP, there may be a requirement to apply an offline update for some of the firmware updates. In most cases you must be able to perform an online update for both the firmware and drivers.
At times there may be newer HPE firmware and driver updates that were updated after the latest SPP was released. These can be retrieved for your specific product or the underlying server platform from https://www.hpe.com/support by selecting HPE Server, Storage and Networking and then searching for the server platform (for example, Apollo 4200 Gen10, ProLiant DL380 Gen10, ProLiant DL380 Gen 10 Plus v2, ProLiant DL360 Gen10, ProLiant ML110 Gen10, ProLiant DL320 Gen 11, ProLiant DL380 Gen11, ProLiant ML110 Gen11 and Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus) to find specific updates.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends updating the OS, software, firmware, and NIC drivers simultaneously (in the same update window) to ensure proper operation of HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage.
