HP ProLiant Essentials Intelligent Networking Pack (INP) has been discontinued and is no longer for sale. This PCN’s purpose is to assist the many HP customers who have configuration support questions about INP concerning what NICs, drivers, servers, and SmartStart releases remain supported by it. The answer is that INP licenses will continue to work on supported servers and NICs that launched prior to Sept. 30, 2007; however…
- INP discontinued 9/30/07.
- INP licenses will continue to work on supported servers and NICs that launched prior to Sept. 30, 2007.
- NCDE 8.80 is the last NIC driver release supporting INP.
- No support for 10 GbE or Windows Server 2008.

INP is NOT upgradeable for new servers announced after Sept. 30, 2007.
- No next generation Intel server (Thurley) support.
- No next generation AMD server (Barcelona) support.
- INP licenses purchased under AKA are honored for the term of the contract, provided they are deployed to a supported server running a supported operating system.

Existing customers can continue to use INP per the constraints listed in this PCN for the duration of the life of their server as long as they remain on NCDE 8.80. Customers under AKA can continue to buy it for the term of their agreement, but usage is limited to the configurations listed in the support information included in this PCN so no new servers, NICs, drivers, or SmartStart support will be added. There is no support for any future devices and software announced after 9/30/2007.
The following table indicates valid configurations at the time of discontinuation on 9/30/2007 and that will remain supported as long as customer configurations don’t deviate from those listed below:
