HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will enter into the End of Life (EOL) period starting April 30, 2017. As a result, HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will be offered by Hewlett Packard Enterprise until October 31, 2017 (subject to inventory availability), and HPE Technology Services will support HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage hardware and software until the end of engineering support as follows.

The term HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage refers to the whole 7000 family, which includes both the 7000 models (7200, 7400, 7450) and the 7000c models (7200c, 7400c, 7440c, 7450c).

HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will be available through HPE Renew for customers who would like to purchase HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage after October 31, 2017. A limited quantity of HPE certified remanufactured 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will be available while supplies last. HPE Renew products are sold with the same HPE Warranty, Support, and Installation options as the standard HPE products. The warranty on HPE Renew systems purchased after October 31, 2017, will be 3 years or until End of Support of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage, whichever occurs first. HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8000 Storage, introduced in August 2015, is the replacement family for HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage. HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage customers will be able to migrate their data online to an HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8000 using 3PAR Peer Motion software. DETAILS

The following table summarizes the various milestones during this EOL period, which starts with an announcement on April 30, 2017, and extends to October 31, 2022.

(1)HPE requires customers to check the feature compatibility information and support matrices for HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems before upgrading an array to 3PAR OS 3.3.1. This information can be found in the HPE 3PAR StoreServ 3PAR OS 3.3.1 Support Matrix available on SPOCK .

(2)HPE can decide to EOL specific drives before the End of sale for HW Upgrades.

HPE 3PAR Operating System

HPE recommends that you operate HPE 3PAR Storage at the latest supported version of HPE 3PAR Operating System Software for your particular configuration. The last HPE 3PAR Operating System (OS) version qualified for HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 systems is HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1 (and relative patches/MUs). HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will remain supported with prior active HPE 3PAR OS versions but will not be supported with any HPE 3PAR OS versions released after HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1.

Interoperability Support

Interoperability support of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems with servers, host operating systems, host bus adapters, and switches will be governed by the end of engineering support for the last HPE 3PAR OS version that supports HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems. Customers deploying HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will need to follow the interoperability support dates that will be published with future end of life announcements for the HPE 3PAR OS versions.

Availability of component hardware upgrades

Add-on and upgrade hardware components, such as upgrade node pairs, adapters, drive enclosures, and drives will remain available for purchase until October 31, 2020, upon inventory availability.

Warranty

Warranty on upgrade hardware components will depend on the date of purchase of those components and will not extend beyond 31 October 2022.

The following table summarizes the applicable warranty period for HDDs and other non-drive HW components.

Availability of HPE 3PAR optional software titles

HPE will continue to sell optional HPE 3PAR software titles on HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems through 31 October 2021.

Extended availability of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage post EOL

HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will be available through HPE Renew for customers who would like to purchase HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage after 31 October 2017. A limited quantity of HPE certified remanufactured 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems will be available while supplies last. HPE Service and Support

HPE engineering will support the last version of HPE 3PAR OS qualified on HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems until 31 October 2022. HPE Technology Services will support HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage systems under warranty or service contract until 31 October 2022. Note that drive replacements in case of failures may require a firmware upgrade on a case-by-case basis. To assure that your array is maintained properly, HPE recommends that each storage system be kept under a service contract once the warranty expires. Product migration options

HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8200, 8400, and 8450 Storage arrays are the replacement models for HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000 and 7000c Storage arrays.
