Microsoft Windows Pre-Execution Environment (WinPE) - Cannot Use Same Image for Uniprocessor and Multiprocessor Target Systems ISSUE: A single operating system image may not work for single processor and multiprocessor Windows Pre-Execution (WinPE) deployment from a Remote Installation Service (RIS) server. SOLUTION: Contact Microsoft for a hotfix to resolve this issue or create and deploy a separate deployment image for single processor and multi processor target systems. CAUSE: This problem occurs because WinPE (Without the hotfix) cannot detect the multiprocessor platform. As a result, not use the same WinPE image for both uniprocessor and multiprocessor-based computers. Use separate images.
